A standard Spin practice is to shoot “flat” or “Cinestyle” in order to control the image throughout the editing process. You can see in the clip just how dramatically different things look between the footage that comes out of the camera and then after it is color corrected.
Using this camera profile allows greater control over image dynamic range in adjusting brightness and contrast. The benefits include maximizing our ability to match look and feel from different sources (cameras), locations, and lighting conditions. A fundamental tool to enhance the craft of cinematic storytelling.
