Matthew Billings here. I’m in Toronto for a project so thought I would do a quick timelapse test on the 5D using an intervalometer. Found a small park near CN Tower and Rogers Centre. Shot a frame every 10 seconds. Still testing exposure and different styles and looks. Quick grading in FC color. As I was shooting a fire broke out and you can see the smoke start rising from the city at about 4 seconds.

New Spin Edit Suite
Apr 2011 16

We added an additional Spin edit suite. It’s nice and comfy – complete with fridge and latte machine. You know, for those rare days when we don’t have time to leave the office to eat lunch or dinner.

Hodgson/Meyers hired Spin to produce this series of short videos about Applied Systems’ ”Epic” software, used as an agency management tool in the insurance business. The videos were used as part of a marketing campaign and were integrated into an interactive online module.

To keep the spots visually engaging, our approach was to add as much cinematic production value as possible (on a fairly modest budget), using a distinctly shallow focus filmic look combined with nicely crafted lighting and moving camera dolly moves. We packed a ton of setups into a one-day shoot and were able to move quickly with a nimble crew and equipment package.
